Trump: Israel will hand over Gaza to the U.S. after the war
Donald Trump Insists on Relocating Gaza Residents to Arab Countries
Former U.S. President Donald Trump remains steadfast in his plan to relocate Gaza residents to Arab countries. He stated that after the war, Israel would hand over the Gaza Strip to the United States, eliminating the need for U.S. troops to occupy the coastal enclave. Trump made these remarks in a statement on Truth Social on Thursday, February 6.
Trump reiterated that once the war ends, Israel will transfer control of Gaza to the United States, making the deployment of American troops in the Palestinian enclave unnecessary.
He claimed that if his proposed plan is implemented, Palestinians in Gaza will have the opportunity to be happy, safe, and independent. He further stated that arrangements would be made for Gaza residents to live safely in new regions with modern housing.
On Tuesday, at a press conference in Washington, Trump first announced the U.S. plan to take control of Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was present with him at the time.
Trump stated that 2.2 million Palestinians would be relocated from the Gaza Strip to a new country. Afterward, the United States would take control of Gaza and claim ownership of the territory.
However, his proposal has sparked widespread anger among Arab nations. Human rights groups have condemned the plan, calling it an act of ethnic cleansing.
Last week, Trump had previously suggested relocating Gaza residents to Jordan and Egypt, but both Middle Eastern countries rejected his proposal.
Additionally, Arab foreign ministers recently held a meeting in Cairo to discuss the matter. They dismissed Trump’s proposal as unrealistic and urged a two-state solution to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
