At 11:09 a.m. on Wednesday, shots were fired in the cafeteria of Antioch High School in Nashville, resulting in two deaths and one injury. A 17-year-old student opened fire, killing one student before taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A third student was grazed by a bullet, while a fourth sustained a facial injury after falling but was not directly struck by gunfire. The injured student was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Later in the afternoon, Metro Nashville Police identified the deceased victim as 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante and the shooter as 17-year-old Solomon Henderson. Authorities are still working to identify the other students involved.
