 A winter storm warning has been issued for Metro Detroit, with significant snowfall expected on Sunday.


 

Widespread snowfall is expected to return to the region for most of Sunday.

A winter storm warning is in effect from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025, for Macomb, Monroe, Sanilac, St. Clair, and Wayne counties. Other counties in the Metro Detroit area are under a winter weather advisory during the same time.

Following a lighter snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches on Saturday morning, a more significant snowstorm is expected to bring heavier snowfall for the weekend's end.


 

Snowfall estimates:

  • 4 to 8 inches are possible in the Winter Storm Warning area.
  • 3 to 6 inches may accumulate in the Winter Weather Advisory area, in addition to the 1 to 3 inches that fell on Saturday morning.
