The PlayStation Network has been experiencing widespread outages for nearly 24 hours, with reports peaking on Friday evening around 6 PM ET, according to Down Detector. While some users have seen service return, others report intermittent connectivity, and Sony’s PlayStation Status page still indicates outages across all services.
The cause of the outage remains unclear, as does the timeline for full restoration across all regions. Frustration among PlayStation gamers has been mounting, largely due to Sony’s lack of communication. Many are demanding compensation, such as free games or account credits. While server issues can take time to resolve, the real frustration stems from Sony’s silence.
So far, the only official acknowledgment is a single post from the Ask PlayStation Twitter/X account stating, “We are aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN,” directing users to the PlayStation Status page.
