Bangladesh faces significant risk from potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
according to a European think tank, as its energy imports are heavily reliant on this critical route.A new report highlights that nearly all of Bangladesh’s crude oil imports and a substantial portion of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies pass through the strait. Specifically, 100 percent of the country’s crude oil and around 71 percent of its LNG imports depend on this narrow maritime chokepoint.
This heavy reliance places Bangladesh among the most vulnerable nations globally to any instability or blockage in the Strait of Hormuz, alongside countries like Pakistan, the study notes.
