"Death toll rises to 24 in Los Angeles wildfire, concerns over strong winds."

The wildfires in Los Angeles, United States, have not been brought under control even after six days. On the contrary, the flames have changed direction and spread to new areas, raising concerns due to forecasts of strong winds. So far, 24 deaths have been reported in the fires.

Despite five days of devastating destruction, the fires continue to rage. The blaze has shifted towards Britain Woods and the San Fernando Valley. Fires remain uncontrolled in many areas, including Palisades, Eaton, Kenneth, Lydia, Hearst, and Archer. In Palisades, the wildfire has spread to an additional 1,000 acres.

According to a report by the BBC on Monday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reported 24 deaths as of Sunday due to the fires. Additionally, 16 people have been reported missing.

Currently, there are four active wildfires in Los Angeles. Among these, the Palisades wildfire has expanded by another 1,000 acres, after already burning 22,000 acres. California's fire service has stated that only 11% of the Palisades wildfire has been brought under control so far.

Before the resurgence of the fires, firefighters had reported progress in controlling the Palisades wildfire and the Eaton fire in eastern Los Angeles. These two wildfires are considered the most devastating, with a combined 145 square kilometers burned to ashes. Geographically, this area is 2.5 times larger than Manhattan in New York.
