Trump claims a ceasefire agreement has been reached between Israel and Iran.
Iranian State Media Claims Ceasefire Was “Imposed on the Enemy” Following U.S. Base Attack
Iranian state media announced Tuesday that a ceasefire had been “imposed on the enemy” following what it described as a military response to U.S. aggression. The statement came just hours after Iran launched retaliatory missile strikes targeting a U.S. base in Qatar.
“The Sepah’s [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] successful missile operations in response to U.S. aggression, along with the steadfastness and unity of our people in defending the homeland, has forced a ceasefire on the enemy,” an anchor on state-run Iran National News Network declared during a live broadcast.
No specific time for the ceasefire’s implementation was provided.
The anchor further claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump sought a ceasefire with Iran and Israel “in a begging-like manner” shortly after the strikes on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
“Just one hour after the Sepah’s successful missile attack on the American Al Udeid base in Qatar, Trump, in a pleading and urgent tone, requested the start of a ceasefire to halt the Zionist enemy’s imposed war against our nation,” the anchor asserted.
